We keep a flock of 175 ewes, the main flock are made up of two different breeds of sheep. We have a pedigree flock of North Country Cheviots and we have Welsh x Ewes. We have a few badger face and welsh mountain ewes who breed our replacements for the main flock.
We keep hill breed sheep due to their ability to do well in harsh conditions and on poorer pasture. Our sheep are run on an a grass based system with supplementation close to lambing time for the twins or thinner ewes. Our lambs are never fed grains and grow at their own rate on their mothers milk and grass. This ensures our lamb has a positive impact on the environment by limiting emissions through not feeding grains and ensures our lamb boxes are of high nutritional content.
